It is believed that Selma may have had a reaction after allegedly mixing prescription medication with alcohol.

Speaking to People magazine, a source said: "She was met by paramedics at LAX as soon as her plane arrived. It looks like she had taken a combination of prescription medication with alcohol. We don't know what sort of prescription medications."

The Telegraph reports that two nurses on board the flight tried to help the actress and checked her bag for pills.

Celebrity news website TMZ reports that witnesses heard Selma crying and talking about fears over an unnamed male.

Selma told fans on Instagram that she was heading off to Mexico for the weekend to celebrate Father's Day with Arthur's dad Jason Bleick.

We're leaving on a jet plane. Dad is already asleep. Not for long. Bwahahahha . #fathersdayweekend
