This amazing video shows an octopus deploying its tentacles to walk down a beach in Tacoma, WA, USA.

The footage, shot earlier this year, shows the cephalopod slowly making its way down the beach.

While it may not seem like the most comfortable terrain for the octopus, it certainly makes its way across the ground with surprising ease and speed.

The octopus uses its tentacles to feel the ground ahead before pulling its body over the rocks.

According to National Geographic the giant Pacific octopus is incredibly intelligent. In the past, they have learned how to open jars and even mimic other octopuses behaviours.
