Connor was last in contact with his family on 22 May.

It has been reported in local Spanish media that a guide found a body in the bottom of a ravine close to Mount Toubkal, the summit of the Atlas Mountains, on Saturday, according to the Bristol Post.

The Daily Mail reports that Avon and Somerset police previously described his disappearance as out of character.

A spokesman said: "His disappearance is out of character and concern is growing for his whereabouts.

"We now understand that while in Morocco, Connor met and spoke to a soldier who is from the Bath area. We are keen to speak to this man who might have information to help our inquiries."

The identity of the body has not yet been verified.

According to the Mirror, a spokesperson for the Foreign Office said: "We are providing assistance to the family of a British man who was reported missing in Morocco."
