The six-year-old girl found unconscious alongside her dead father on the Isle of Wight has been named.

Keziah Flux-Edmonds was discovered lying next to the bodies of her father, Darren Flux-Edmonds, 44, and two dogs, police said.

She was rushed to hospital from a home in Cromwell Avenue in East Cowes on Wednesday morning, but died a short time later.

A Hampshire Police spokeswoman said: "Darren Flux-Edmonds, 44, was found dead by officers at an address in Cromwell Avenue.

"His daughter, Keziah Flux-Edmonds, six, was found unconscious at the address and was taken to St Mary's Hospital. She died a short time later.

"Investigations into the exact circumstances of the deaths are ongoing today on behalf of the coroner and post-mortems are being carried out today.

"The family, who are being supported by specialist officers, has asked for privacy at this very difficult time and we would urge media to respect their wishes."

Mr Flux-Edmonds had posted a number of smiling photographs of his young daughter on his Facebook page in recent months.

He also posted a series of quotes about heartbreak and pain, including one that read: "Lord, my heart hurts right now. I have no idea what I need, but you do. Please help."
