Dozens of cars swallowed after road collapses in Florence

Dozens of cars were swallowed up in Florence after a 600ft-section of road collapsed on the banks of the Arno River.

Emergency services were called to the scene after the large section of road gave way. It is thought that the collapse was caused by a burst water pipe underneath the road.
