Leon Brown, meteorologist at The Weather Channel, told Aol Travel: "The weather in the north and west will be best. High pressure will remain in the north and low pressure in the south. This means easterly breezes, so the east coast will be quite chilly in breezes off the North Sea, with sea temperatures at 10 to 11C.
"Away from the east coast, it will feel pleasantly warm with temperatures in the 19 to 23C range."
However, it looks like there could be some rain around in the south. Leon added: "Residents in the south should keep a brolly handy. Southern counties of England and Wales are likely to see showers on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, with some locally heavy downpours and thunder.
"During the holiday, on Monday, the weather isn't looking so promising for south east England.
"Low pressure over Germany and the Netherlands looks likely to swing westwards and threatens heavy rain across East Anglia and south east England with fresh or even strong north to northeast winds.
"The rain will extend to the Midlands and Wales later in the day.
"In contrast, Ireland and Scotland should have a fine day!"
The Met Office's outlook for Friday to Sunday agrees, saying: "Rain across northern England on Friday will gradually ease.
"Many places will then be dry with sunny spells but some heavy showers developing in southern areas.
"It will become warmer generally in most areas."
