Singer Wayne Woodward and sword stuntsman Alexandr Magala reach BGT final

Swing singer Wayne Woodward and sword-swallower Alexandr Magala have each won a place in the Britain's Got Talent final.

Woodward was the overall winner in the live semi-final of the ITV show.

Magala made it through after the judges picked him ahead of ballet dancers Shannon & Peter Parker.

Woodward said: "I am ready for the final," while Magala promised there would be more unbelievable stunts.

He stunned the audience and judges by climbing a pole blindfolded, before dropping down and stopping only inches away from moving drill bits below him.

Magala's death defying act was pre-recorded as a safety precaution.

He said: "It is going to be a surprise even for me. There is always these crazy ideas in my mind that do not let me sleep at night so I will bring them over here."

He went through after judges David Walliams and Alesha Dixon said they wanted to see something different and unique in the final.

Simon Cowell also backed him ahead of the ballet act, saying: "I have got to give it to the person who is prepared to risk their life."

Accordion player Vitaly Voronko, singing couple Ian and Anne Marshall, dance group Mythical PSM, The Garnett Family singers, dance act Another Kind Of Blue and singer Rachael Wooding were the other beaten hopefuls.

The first live semi-final on Sunday night saw Dixon's Golden Buzzer act, 100 Voices Of Gospel, secure a place alongside Mel & Jamie in the grand final of the show on Saturday.

There are still more than 30 acts to perform in the live semi-finals, ahead of the grand final on May 28.

The winner of the ITV show, now in its 10th year, will perform for the Queen at the Royal Variety Show and win a £250,000 prize.
