If you're heading into summer a bit cash-strapped but in serious need of some new electricals or appliances you might just be in luck.

Amazon is currently running a Warehouse Deals Clearance with up to 50% off, until the 31st May.

If you're not quite sure what this actually means - Amazon Warehouse Deals offers open-box, customer returned and warehouse damaged merchandise, at heavily discounted prices.

This all sounds like a great savings opportunity, but you might have to go to a bit of effort to trawl through all the products to actually find what you're looking for.

Luckily super savers at HotUKDeals are on hand to offer help, members having been posting their own deals online and have also managed to help others find the things they need, at the price they want to pay.

008 was the original member to post on the site about the deals, and he warned fellow frugal shoppers that there are limited amounts of stock on offer so to get in quick.

He did, however, confirm that everything he ordered turned up the next day although one item was the wrong colour and another was missing some electrical leads. Apart from those issues, everything was 'as new'.

Members have also been forthcoming in giving advice on how to get the best deals on the items you want.

One suggests: "Keep clicking on all the sales choices until you find one that states either 'will come in original box but box will be damaged/knackered or will come repackaged'."

Members have also been revealing what bargains they've managed to pick up.

'Reptilemonkey1' said: "I got a pair of as new Noontec Pro headphones yesterday for £11. £60+ everywhere else. Very happy."

Meanwhile HotUKDeals member 'Honeydragon' got her hands on a set of Corioliss hair straighteners for just £39.56 instead of £62.

Although these success stories might prompt you to jump online straight away, be aware that the 'used' nature of the products can mean that purchases are a bit 'hit and miss'.

One member said: "I purchased several items on Friday (delivered Saturday). I have been very unlucky this time (some down to poor packaging). I always read the condition description carefully before purchasing."

They did however note that the plus side is that the Amazon returns policy is very good.

The most recent update to the thread on HotUKDeals claims that so far the total amount saved by the site's members has totalled a staggering £13,400!
