Pizza Hut staff get a slice of the action with Leicester City name changes

Updated

Staff at a Leicester restaurant are celebrating the city's footballing success in a unique manner after they officially changed their names to match those of the title-winning squad.

Customers eating at the Pizza Hut in Haymarket will be served by the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and Wes Morgan.

Twelve members of staff at the restaurant have changed their names by deed poll, including manager Charlotte Smith, who has taken the name of Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri.

The former Ms Smith, now officially Ms Ranieri, said the move was Pizza Hut's way of celebrating the Foxes' "incredible achievement in a unique way".

She said: "Fans will now be able to enjoy a delicious meal and drinks in the Hut served by their favourite star player. Whoever thought this would be possible?

"We're so proud of how far the Foxes have come and pleased to announce that we now have the very best line-up in the country. We can't wait to celebrate and pay tribute to the team."

Leicester secured the Premier League crown earlier this month after title rivals Tottenham could only draw a must-win game.

They are set to celebrate their success with an open-top bus tour across the city on Monday.
