The Chase's Jenny Ryan: It's hurtful when people don't give me a chance
The Chase star Jenny Ryan has admitted it hurt her feelings when some viewers refused to give her a chance on The Chase.
The 34-year-old joined the show in 2015 and told Metro that she was upset when people posted messages online saying that they turned off their televisions when she came on.
"It is quite hurtful when people make a judgement without even really watching me and saying things like, 'I'm not watching if she's on' or 'I don't like change'," she said.
"There's certain people who have contacted me on Twitter, not realising I am a human being who reads things sent to me directly. They've said, 'I can't stand her. I never watch more than a minute of her before switching off'. It's a bit like 'give me a chance!'"
However, despite the abuse Jenny said she is feeling "more at home than ever" on the ITV game show, now that she has been filming for more than a year.
She said: "It's a steep learning curve - more so than I think people at home can imagine. Certainly it was steeper than I imagined."
Jenny is currently working on the tenth series and revealed there are a few celebrity contestants she would like to see take part.
"Well I'm partial to a bit of Tom Hardy. That would be interesting especially if he brought his dog!" she said. "And I'm a big fan of Benedict Cumberbatch."
