Pet goat stolen by thieves who bundled it into Vauxhall Astra

A goat was stolen from Godstone Hill, Surrey last Saturday and driven away in a blue Vauxhall Astra.

The pet goat, Billy, was reportedly bundled into the car with the registration FN55 MFJ.

According to the government enquiry service the diesel vehicle is not taxed and has no insurance.

Get Surrey reports that witnesses saw Billy in the back of the car.

Police are searching the area for the goat and the car.

Local residents took to Facebook to express their sadness, with one social media user writing on the Tandridge Beat page: "Shame on the thief!!!"

Another wrote: "Poor Goat... I hope anyone who knows this car and is protecting them.... realise that it was a poor goat that got stolen this time, next time they could kill or injury a child ! They obviously have a total disrespect for the law."
