Jamie Vardy endured tattoo marathon ahead of Leicester triumph

Leicester City star Jamie Vardy limbered up to watch the title-clinching match between Chelsea and Tottenham with a gruelling seven-hour session in the tattooist's chair.

Body artist Nik Moss-Glennon said he did not want to give details of the design Vardy had inked onto his torso on Monday - at one of the four parlours owned by Foxes captain Wes Morgan.

Hundreds of Leicester City fans are looking to follow their hero into the tattooist's chair to mark the Foxes remarkable Premier League win.

Mr Moss-Glennon said staff at the Belgrave Gate business returned to work on Tuesday to dozens of calls from supporters wanting bookings.

And the studio, co-owned by the man who will lift the Premier League trophy aloft on Saturday at their game against Everton, has since had hundreds of more calls from Foxes fans.

Mr Moss-Glennon said the week had been "absolutely crazy" following Leicester City defying 5000/1 odds to clinch the title on Monday evening.

He told the Press Association: "In the build up to it, there was a lot of people coming in and making enquiries but I did not anticipate just how crazy it was going to go when they did win.

"I was keeping track of what was going on with Tottenham then Twitter exploded, Facebook exploded. I tattooed Jamie Vardy that day and my social media started going crazy and it's just continued.

"That first day back in work after they had won, there was over 70 messages from people wanting Leicester-related tattoos."

The number of calls is now well into the hundreds, Mr Moss-Glennon added.

"Towards the end of June is the first time I have anything free at all, so it's difficult because everyone has got the buzz right now and I'm putting in a lot of hours trying to keep people happy."

Mr Moss-Glennon said he was starting earlier and finishing later to help with the waiting list and added: "I understand the buzz that's going on and considering the Leicester City captain's involvement in this shop, it's a real shame for people to not get it done here."

He started working at the shop just as Leicester City started on a winning run last season, which saw them survive in the Premier League after relegation looked likely.

He said: "It's an ongoing joke, but I keep making out that they have done well since I started. If they start going downhill, I hope I don't get the sack."

One Foxes fan who had the hindsight to book ahead for his tattoo was Mark Molloy, 40, of Whetstone, Leicestershire.

The commercial paint sprayer booked in a few weeks ago and was getting his third tattoo - a Leicester City badge with a ripped skin effect.

Speaking about this season, he said: "It's just been bizarre. You watch every game and you're just not expecting to lose. Even if they go down you expect them to come back and score goals. It's been crazy."

He watched Leicester's last game against Manchester United and the pivotal game between Chelsea and Tottenham at home with friends and family.

He said: "I was there during League 1, Championship, Premier League, win or lose if you're a Leicester fan, you're a Leicester fan. You get used to the ups and downs."

And getting the timely tattoo isn't the only slice of good luck Mr Molloy has had this week.

He also placed three bets on early in the season - Leicester to win the league, the club to finish in the top four and Jamie Vardy to be top goalscorer. The Foxes' success has already landed him £2,500, but despite Vardy being three goals behind Tottenham's Harry Kane with two games left to play in the season, Mr Molloy hasn't lost the faith yet.

"It could still happen", he said.
