Elle King and Birdy will perform at the Bafta TV awards
Elle King will kick off the Bafta TV awards with a special red carpet performance.
The singer-songwriter will perform her latest Grammy-nominated single Ex's and Oh's to guests from the television industry and onlookers, marking the first time a musician will have performed on the red carpet at the Baftas.
Birdy will then perform her single Wild Horses during the main ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
The 19-year-old, best-known for her cover of Bon Iver's Skinny Love and for her work on film soundtracks including The Hunger Games and The Fault In Our Stars, will announce her UK and European tour in September.
Krishnendu Majumdar, chair of the Bafta television committee, said: "We are thrilled that Elle King and Birdy will be performing at the House of Fraser British Academy Television Awards on Sunday.
"2015 was a fantastic year for high-quality television and their performances will add to the air of celebration and ceremony, as we honour the very best in British television."
Nominees for this year's awards include Idris Elba, who has earned his first Bafta TV nomination.
The British actor has been nominated for his performance in the title role of the hit BBC series Luther.
He will go head-to-head in the leading actor category with London Spy's Ben Whishaw, Wolf Hall's Mark Rylance and Stephen Graham, who is nominated for This Is England '90.
Historical drama Wolf Hall leads this year's nominations with a total of four nods.
This includes a nomination for the show's star Claire Foy, who is in the running for best leading actress alongside Sheridan Smith, Suranne Jones and Ruth Madeley.
The Bafta TV awards will be hosted by Graham Norton on Sunday, May 8, and broadcast on BBC One at 8pm.
