Foxes' fans must wait to see if Leicester clinch Premier League title

Leicester City fans face a nail-biting wait to see if the side pulls off one of the greatest comebacks in English football history and lifts the Premier League trophy.

A draw against Manchester United on Sunday meant the Foxes will be winners if Tottenham Hotspur fail to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening.

Hundreds of fans packed into pubs and bars across the city to watch the game at Old Trafford, with Leicester fans knowing that a win would have seen them cap off an historic season.

Anthony Martial opened the scoring for Manchester United in the eighth minute before Wes Morgan got an equaliser for Leicester.

Fans leaving the Local Hero pub on Aylestone Road, Leicester, said they were pleased with the draw as it put the pressure on their title rivals.

Rick Woolmer, a Leicester fan since 1963, of Corby, said: "We could have won it, maybe we should have won it, and we're nearly there.

"Going to Old Trafford to win the Premier League is a big ask. I've been a lifelong Leicester fan and been through ups and downs and this is everything."

Arthur Gomersall, 73, said: "I think Leicester should have pinched that but I'd have taken a point to begin with.

"I think they are going to do it, we've just got to wait a bit longer."

The crowd at the Local Hero were in high spirits throughout the match, chanting "We're all going on a European tour" and "We are top of the league" as the game went on.

Harry Barnett, 18, of Leicester, said: "The pressure was off before the match, and I think this has been a good result.

"It's actually going to happen and it's ridiculous."

Leicester City spent last season languishing at the bottom of the table and were expected by some to be relegated this year.

Dennis Mistry, 46, paid tribute to the manager Claudio Ranieri for guiding the Foxes to within grasping distance of a league title.

He said: "Leicester played all the way, 100%. It's just been fantastic this season, fantastic players, fantastic manager and fantastic supporters."
