Pensioner advertises for naked cleaner - would you do it?

A pensioner, identified by the Western Daily Press as John, has advertised for a new cleaner, at an impressive hourly rate. The successful candidate will get £20 an hour, and is expected to work for two hours a week. They have to be comfortable with unusual working arrangements, however, because he would like them to clean the house naked.

The 70-year-old, from Kingswood in Bristol, has stressed that he is happy with anyone aged 18-55, and with any body shape. He told the newspaper that he has had four nude cleaners so far, and has become friends with them all.

He admitted he was a voyeur, but he added that there was a sex industry he would use if he was after anything more, and he just wanted the chance to appreciate the female form. He has had heart trouble in the past, so isn't as active as he once was.

According to The Sun, so far he has had eight applications in two weeks, but hasn't found quite the right person for the role.

Last year, his story hit the headlines when he advertised for his fourth cleaner. That time he had 11 applications, so it seems that the jobs market in Bristol has picked up in the interim.

Naked jobs

There are a surprising number of roles available for people who want to do completely ordinary jobs - but with nothing on. There are several agencies offering nude cleaners of both genders, and they recruit regularly. Back in 2008 Knobs and Knockers advertised in a Southampton Job Centre - offering £10 an hour - and a free pinny.

There are also plenty of organisations who will arrange handymen to do odd jobs around the house in the buff.

It's not all just about voyeurism though. In 2011, a web developer opened an office in Amersham. As a naturist, he decided to advertise for other naturists to come and work for him. He was offering £24,000 a year and said he would be interviewing people in the nude to ensure they were comfortable enough to work that way.

Sometimes it can be a useful recruitment tool too. Back in 2001 a Rotterdam call centre advertised for nude workers - and got 75 responses in four hours - roughly 75 times the response rate than when they advertised for fully-clothed staff.
