Can Botox help treat migraines?
The American Academy of Neurology has updated its guidelines to say that Botox, often used to smooth wrinkles, is a safe and effective treatment for chronic migraine and three other neurological disorders.
Having 15 or more migraines a month is defined as chronic migraine.

The experts believe that Botox helps reduce muscle contractions and blocks the release of substances which transmit pain signals.
Last time the guidelines were updated was back in 2008, when there wasn't enough information available to make a case for using Botox to combat chronic migraines.
But the new research claims that there is now conclusive evidence that Botox can provide a small benefit for people with chronic migraines.
