Pair arrested over links to extreme-left Turkish terror group
A man and a woman have been arrested over links to an extreme-left Turkish terror group.
Officers from Scotland Yard's Counter-Terrorism Command held a 45-year-old woman in north London on Wednesday on suspicion of disseminating a terrorist publication and supporting a proscribed organisation.
A 49-year-old man was arrested in east London on suspicion of disseminating a terrorist publication.
They have been taken to a police station in south London and their homes are being searched.
The arrests are linked to the distribution of a magazine that allegedly glorifies acts of terrorism and invites support for the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party (DHKP-C).
It is part of a Marxist terrorist movement that has killed police officers, soldiers and dozens of civilians since the late 1970s.
