A swanky three bedroom maisonette in Chelsea has hit the rental market - giving you the chance to live in the former home of Sex Pistol Johnny Rotten (nowadays known as John Lydon from 'I'm a Celebrity'). The incredible redesign and expensive postcode, however, means it comes at a fairly eye-watering cost.

If you want to live in Johnny's former home, it'll cost you £5,612 a month - that's a shocking £1,295 a week. It's a far cry from 1978 when he reportedly put down a £12,000 deposit in order to buy the place.

For your money you get to live in three bedrooms based in SW10's Gunter Grove, a stone's throw from the King's Road where Johnny met Malcolm McLaren and was invited to front The Sex Pistols.

You also get a huge double reception room with a feature fish tank, a monochrome palette, and shiny new whiteness throughout.

There's also a modest (but brand new and very shiny) kitchen - complete with breakfast bar.

Plus, there's an impressive bathroom, complete with a feature bathtub and 'his and hers' sinks.

And in case that's not enough space for you, there's also a roof terrace - with plenty of room for your friends.

The property doesn't hold many clues to its punk past. Given its location it was always going to be converted and then completely redecorated for a well-heeled tenant. A Sex-Pistols-themed decor was unlikely to go down well with a tenant willing to part with more than £5,000 a month in rental.

However, there's clearly an enormous amount of entertaining space if you want to move in and relive some of the property's famous parties. Johnny bought the house in 1978 - three years after his big break - and played host to endless visitors and parties before leaving for the US.

But what do you think? Would you want to live here, and is its famous history enough to persuade you to part with so much money? Let us know in the comments.
