Bizarre Porsche Panamera hearse spotted in Italy
The Porsche Panamera is known for not being the best looking car in the world, but someone has decided to make one look even more unusual.
AutoMoto.it have released pictures of a Panamera that has been modified into a hearse, which they saw being transported on a flatbed truck through Italy.
It was thought this could have been a very expensive April Fools' joke, but further pictures were released on Autoevolution.com showing the car on display in a showroom, possibly validating that this could be a real adaptation.
The saloon has been altered considerably, with the back of the car customised to fit in a coffin with the hearse-style back end.
Carscoops suggested that this version might be adapted from either the Turbo or Turbo S model, meaning it has a twin-turbocharged 4.8-litre V8 under the bonnet and for a hearse, that's some serious power on offer.
This is certainly a removal from the hearses you expect to see, thanks to the burnt gold finish and the surprisingly sporty styling, it still looks very odd for one of the fastest saloons on the market to be turned into a 'coffin carrier'.
As modifications go, this is a weird one. For a petrol head who wants to be sent off in style however, or just someone who loves Porsches, it is a unique opportunity.
This isn't the first time that a luxury sports car has been turned into a hearse, as in 2010, again in Italy -the home of coach building - a Maserati Quattraporte was seen to have been modified into a hearse.
