Jantjies relief for Lions

Elton Jantjies is set to play in Lions' Super Rugby match against Crusaders next week after it was revealed that the fly-half does not require surgery.

Lions revealed on Tuesday that Jantjies would require an operation after sustaining a suspected fractured left wrist during the Lions' victory over Cheetahs on Saturday.

However, the Johannesburg-based franchise announced later in the day that Jantjies will not be going under the knife after getting the all-clear from a specialist.

Lions are not in action this week, but Jantjies will be available for his side's clash with Crusaders on April 1.

Jantjies will be hoping to feature for South Africa in the first of three Tests against Ireland in Cape Town on June 11 with Handre Pollard and Pat Lambie sidelined.
