Labour lead Tories in new poll
Labour are ahead of the Tories for the first time since Jeremy Corbyn became leader, according to a new poll.
The YouGov poll, held after Wednesday's Budget, put Labour on 34%, with the Tories on 33%, Ukip on 16% and the Lib Dems on 6%.
YouGov director Anthony Wells told The Mirror: "We have an unprecedented level of division within the Conservative Party over the EU, a battle which is very much being fought front and centre with the current Prime Minister on one side and a prime ministerial hopeful (Boris Johnson) on the other.
"Under such circumstances, polling support tends to suffer – there's nothing worse than party disunity to prompt a polling freefall."
The YouGov survey comes just days after a poll by ICM put Labour level with the Tories.
Meanwhile, a poll on the AOL UK Homepage found that just 11% of voters thought they had been left better off by the Budget. Some 38% felt they were worse off, 29% thought it made no difference to them either way and 22% were unsure.
