Dog whose owner died in car crash has sat by freezing Siberian road for over a year

Pic shows: The dog. A dog abandoned after his owner was killed in a car crash in Siberia has refused to leave the sport for more than a year hoping that its owner will return. The loyal animal, a Siberian Hatiko, was left behind after the car crash in autumn 2014 when people first started noticing it standing beside the road, and several people tried to catch it. When it refused to be captured, kind animal lovers started feeding the dog, and they even put a kennel beside the road. Unfortunately it was too near to the road and it was destroyed by a truck, although a new one was built a few weeks later in the village of Berkut, near the town of Yalutorovsk in south-central Russia's Tyumen Oblast. Ever since then the animal still refused to be captured, and still continues to wait for its owner. Animal activist Anastasia Selina said: "We haven't been able to get anywhere near the animal, it only seems to want to get to its previous owner and as far as we know they didn't survive the car accident. "It doesn't trust anyone else, and will not even let anybody even stroke it. We advise people not to disturbing, because we are worried he might run under a car if you get scared." Despite the cold weather this year the dog has survived a second Siberian winter, thanks to motorists throwing food out of the window, and the campaign has now been started to find a home for the dog and to capture him once and for all. A loyal dog has waited by the spot on a Siberian road where his owner is believed to have died in a car crash a year and a half ago.

The dog, thought to be a mongrel, first appeared by the side of the road in Berkut, in south-central Russia's Tyumen Oblast region following the crash in the autumn of 2014.
