A 1954 Aston Martin Lagonda that belonged to HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh will be sold at public auction on April the 20th 2016 at IWM Duxford, Cambridgeshire. This long-bodied drophead, finished in Edinburgh Green, was the car that won Aston Martin its first Royal warrant.

It was one of only twenty MKI cars made and used by the Prince for personal transport. Under the long bonnet sits a 3.0-litre engine that has seen around 50,000 miles. Given its history, the Lagonda has been estimated between £350,000 and £450,000, about three to four times what a regular Lagonda of the same age would be worth.
