Drunken man kicked out of Ritz after attacking girlfriend for not having sex

A drunken boyfriend was forced to leave exclusive London hotel The Ritz after attacking his girlfriend after demanding she have sex with him.

Rhys Weatherburn, 20, had booked a £320-a-night room at the hotel for the couple to spend a romantic night but after an argument at dinner his girlfriend Shannon Fidge refused to sleep with.

Westminster Magistrates Court heard how he told her: "We are in a hotel, we are going to have sex."

Kent Online reports that Fidge screamed for help and was heard by other guests who alerted staff at the hotel.

Weatherburn, from Maidstone, smashed a glass door as he was escorted from the premises.

The Mirror reports that Nicola Flint, prosecuting, said that after their meal, he left his girlfriend alone for ten minutes before they returned to the hotel.

Miss Fidge got ready for bed and Weatherburn wanted sex, telling her she was being stupid when she refused.

He shook her arms aggressively and pushed her onto the bed.

Weatherburn told the court: "I genuinely feel that you need to get an understanding from me about my character and what I am doing around the issue that has quite clearly been unearthed about myself and my relationship with alcohol."

He admitted assault by beating and criminal damage to property and will be sentenced on March 2.
