See inside Jackie Collins' glamorous Beverly Hills home
Jackie Collins' Beverly Hills home is up for sale for $30 million - and it's as glamorous as the best-selling author herself.
Collins, famous for 'bonk-busters' such as Hollywood Wives and The Stud, sold more than 500 million copies of her novels in more than 40 countries during her forty-year career.
The sister of actress Joan Collins, she died last September at the age of 77 after a secret six-year battle with breast cancer.
Now, her enormous Beverly Hills home is up for sale with real estate firm Hilton and Hyland. Built in 1992, it extends to around 20,000 square feet and was, she said, inspired by David Hockney's painting A Bigger Splash.
"I couldn't take my eyes off the pool and fell in love with the clean lines, suspended splash and overall tranquility," she told the Wall Street Journal in 2014.
"Within days, I was sketching a design for a new home that wrapped around a pool based on the one in the painting."
Overlooking the Hollywood Hills and set in an acre of land, the eight-bedroom mansion features a 100-foot-long art gallery. There's also a separate guest house, containing a private film screening room, sauna and gym and - of course - there's a swimming pool with a cabana.
Collins once described herself as 'a street writer who doesn't pretend to be anything else'. "I'm not grammatical in the way I talk, or in the way I write, and I don't pretend to be. I'm a high school dropout who eavesdrops," she told The Times.
Collins always said that her home was extremely important to her, and she lived in some beautiful places over the years. Last year, we reported on the sale of her former home in London's St John's Wood, which went on sale in November for £11.5 million.
