Five children hit by car in Liverpool

Five children have been hit by a car in south Liverpool leaving a number of them with serious injuries.

Merseyside Police said that emergency services are currently at the scene of the incident on Belvidere Road near Princes Park.

A passerby reported witnessing a collision involving a yellow Peugeot and a number of pedestrians.

The five girls are aged between 11 and 13 years old.

A number of them injuries which are described as serious.
