Toilets on planes may be short on space - but they are definitely not lacking in power.

This video uploaded to YouTube by jjetblackk shows just how powerful a plane toilet can be when put to the test.

The footage, which has had more than 12,000 views, shows passengers on board a Southwest Airlines flight testing the power of the flush by laying a entire toilet roll down the aisle of the plane, running into the toilet. Even the flight attendants joined in on the fun.

The toilet was then flushed and the paper can be seen vanishing from the floor as it is sucked into the toilet at an astonishing speed.

Passengers on board can be heard laughing and even applauding at the silly experiment as the final loo roll is whipped down the aisle.

It was recently revealed that the toilet area is not actually the dirtiest place on a plane as you might think. An experiment found that tray tables and armrests are far more germ-ridden.

The study showed that germs like e.coli could live on the non-porous surface for as long as 96 hours. Which is why it's always a good idea to carry antibacterial wipes when you're travelling...
