Most romantic hotels in the UK revealed

This hotel in Devon has just been named the most romantic hotel in the UK in TripAdvisor Traveller's Choice awards 2016.

The Old Rectory Hotel in Martinhoe, near Woolacombe, north Devon, also won second spot for the most romantic hotels around the world, beaten only by the Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort in Aruba in the Caribbean.

The Old Rectory can be found close to the beautiful Exmoor coastline in north Devon, surrounded by National Trust land.

This boutique hotel has ten luxurious en-suite bedrooms, each of which have been individually designed and decorated.

TripAdvisor travellers have described the hotel as 'pure bliss', 'an oasis of calm' and the 'perfect stay' in their reviews of the accommodation.

The nearby Exmoor National Park reaches across 267 square miles and offers visitors a huge variety of landscapes and plenty of activities to be enjoyed.

Edgar House in historic Chester came in second place in this year's list. Set on the banks of the River Dee, it's just a few minutes walk from the city's beautiful attractions.

Meanwhile, the Grasmere Hotel in Cumbria rounds out the top three in this year's most romantic hotels in the UK. Built in the late 1800's, many of the bedrooms boast incredible views of the scenic Lake District National Park.
