A group of holidaymakers got something of a fright when a lion decided to rip off their car bumper as they drove through a safari park.

The tourists were driving through the Johannesburg Lion Park, which is a wildlife conservation enclosure, when they came across a road block of lions.

While one lion chewed on the car's side mirror, another lion preferred the taste of the vehicle's front bumper and ripped it straight off the rest of the car.

The group excitedly take pictures of the lion, and have to calm down one of the passengers who doesn't like it when he starts chewing on the mirror.

She tells them to "move fast", but they urge her to be quiet and calm down.

As another lion then rips off the front bumper, the woman says: "I told you", and another passenger laughs: "You're not getting that back."

The group can then be heard laughing and someone says "let's go, let's go", as the pride wander over to inspect their new find.

They might have been a little more scared if they'd seen this video of a clever lion that opened a family's car door as they drove through a safari park.
