By this end of January, you could be forgiven for thinking that all you can afford to do this weekend is hibernate on the sofa, contemplate the empty fridge, and count the days to payday. Fortunately, that's not your only option. We have found enough freebies to keep you entertained all weekend, whether you want to pop out for a free beer, or stay in and complete a Lego challenge

Free beer
If you fancy a drink after work on Friday, or an early one on Saturday night, then Revolution Vodka bars may have what you're looking for. They are offering a glass of free Mahou beer between 5pm and 9pm at their venues (excluding Scotland). You just fill in the form, get a voucher, and exchange it at the bar any Friday or Saturday before the end of the month.

Free travel guide

Just fill in the form and you'll get a voucher in the post to use in Tesco before 31 January. Users of HotUKDeals.com warn that you have to give them permission to contact you in order to get the freebie, so you'll need to decide for yourself if it's worth the inconvenience.

Free postcode lottery
If you'd like your January cash problems solved, meanwhile, you could always enter the free postcode lottery. Entering doesn't cost anything, because the prize is paid for by advertising. All you have to do is register your postcode. The site will pick one winning postcode at random at noon every day to take the £200 jackpot, and you have until noon the following day to check back and claim it. If nobody claims it, it'll roll over to the following day, and the biggest prize claimed to date was over £900.
