Lotto player faces nervous wait for £33m payout

Updated

One of two winning ticket holders has claimed their slice of the record £66 million Lotto draw, Camelot said.

The lucky player is in line to take home £33,035,323 once the ticket is verified, but for now must endure a nerve-shredding wait until the claim is validated.

Lotto officials are keeping tight-lipped over the identity of the winner and refused to reveal any details about them, even where in the country the life-changing ticket was purchased.

The winning numbers for Saturday's draw were 58, 47, 27, 46, 52, 26 and the bonus ball was 48. Camelot has urged players to double check if they hold the remaining winning ticket that matches all six numbers.

The record-breaking jackpot had built up over 14 rollovers and would have been shared had there been no outright winners.

A Camelot spokesman said: "One person came forward yesterday and one more ticket is still outstanding. That claim will be validated and once it has been validated we will ask if they want to share the news or not."
