According to the Mirror, the man was arrested and taken to Can Misses Hospital in Ibiza.

Cabin crew staff reportedly managed to overpower the man during his attempt to open the door.

Civil Guard officers believe he was trying to commit suicide rather than attempting to cause harm to other passengers.

The Daily Mail reports that the man boarded the plane without any luggage, and several passengers had been keeping a close eye on him after noticing him acting suspiciously.

With the help of fellow passengers, crew members managed to prise him away from the door and throw him to the ground.

Local reports said the man suffered with psychological problems.
