Court action worth billions filed against VW in America

A court action has been filed by The Department of Justice in the United States against Volkswagen claiming that nearly 600,000 Audi, Volkswagen and Porsche cars had emissions-cheating devices fitted.

The total fine would cost VW billions should the maximum penalty of £25,500 be imposed on each vehicle.
