Man arrested over attack on Scottish Sun journalist Russell Findlay

A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged serious assault on an investigative journalist.

Russell Findlay, 41, news and investigations reporter at The Scottish Sun, suffered a facial injury in the attack at his home in Glasgow at about 8.45am on Wednesday.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A 55-year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with an alleged serious assault on a 41-year-old man in Glasgow.

"The 41-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and was released after treatment for a facial injury.

"A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."

A News UK spokesman said on Wednesday: "We can confirm that our journalist Russell Findlay was attacked this morning. Russell is a brilliant and fearless reporter and our only concern now is for his well-being."
