When you've done something wrong then you should expect to pay the consequences.

As if a criminal record and a sizable fine weren't enough, Transport for London (TfL) has a punishment so severe you might need the force to withstand it.

TfL manage the underground and other forms of transport around London and have decided enough is enough when it comes to fare dodgers.

They've come up with a new way of making sure no one is getting on their trains without paying their fare.

Handwritten signs posted around the underground and overground stations in the capital read: "Attention. Anyone caught travelling without a valid ticket or Oyster will be told the ending to the new Star Wars (and also get a penalty fare."

People trying to use the transport system without a valid ticket or Oyster card typically pay a fine of around £80, but the organisation has a lot of money to make up for.

Fare dodgers have cost Transport for London more than £60 million in 2015 alone and they will clearly resort to having Storm Troopers patrol the stations to make sure they get their money.

The sign was spotted at Canonbury overground in North London.
