A representative for the star told the newspaper: "There was no panic or possible last minute delay to the flight."

In 2013, the former X Factor judge had to pay £3,500 for her own first class flight from Heathrow to LA when she was mistakenly booked in economy and was refused a free upgrade by British Airways.

A source told The Sun: "Nicole was fuming. She always flies first-class but she was amazed to find that she had been booked into economy.

"The X Factor books all of her flights – but she hadn't expected this.

"Nicole spent 20 minutes trying to get BA to upgrade her but in the end she had to put her hand in her pocket."
