A survey of 2,000 adults found that end of year "motivational" speeches, drunken conversations about work, and late night travel home, also annoys people at the annual festive drinks event.

Three out of four of those polled by LateRooms.com said they didn't even want to attend the office party.

Andrea Tarpey of LateRooms.com, said: 'We know everyone loves to party at Christmas but office parties can be really difficult, and many employees spend the night wishing they were somewhere else."

The research found that the average person will attend four Christmas parties, with today and tomorrow set to be the busiest days.

LateRooms has devised a special outfit which looks as though people are wearing a Christmas tree.
