400 miles of roadworks to be lifted for Christmas period

More than 400 miles of roadworks are set to be removed for the Christmas period in order to make the journeys drivers easier over the festive period.

Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin delivered the news, which will no doubt come as a huge relief to the thousands of motorists preparing to make trips over the holidays.
