Freebie Friday: handy giveaways in the most expensive month of all
Payday on Black Friday was a bit of a killer all round. This was already going to be the most expensive month of the year, and the super sale just made things even trickier.
If you're trying to get through the rest of the month without breaking the bank, then you might be grateful for a few freebies. We have everything from free movies and drinks to free money.
Free movie rental
The O2 Priority app has come up trumps again. The users of HotUKdeals.com have spotted that if you are on O2, you can get free movie rental from Google Play. The five titles you can choose from are: The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Life Of Pi, This Means War, Jingle All The Way, Chronicle and Ruby Sparks.
Free money
If you have an American Express card, and you plan to Shop Small (which is a promotion encouraging people to use their local shops), then you can get £5 back for free. In fact, from this Saturday to Sunday 20 December, you'll get £5 statement credit every time you use your card at small shops, restaurants and, bars - and spend at least £10. You'll need to register your card first at the website - where you'll also be able to check who is taking part in your area.

Free drink
Until 12 December, Pitcher and Piano is offering an alternative advent calendar. Each day it will email you an offer of a free drink to enjoy in the run-up to Christmas. You just need to download your voucher and hand it in on the same day. To get yours, you need to sign up to the newsletter, and as a handy extra you'll get a free drink every month into the bargain
Free coke
You can get yourself a free £1.85 bottle of Coca Cola Zero or Coca Cola Life, using ClickSnap from Quidco. You'll need to sign up to Quidco, buy the product, then take a photo of your receipt and upload it to the site - either through the website or the app. The cashback will be credited to your account - and the drink will effectively be free. The deal runs out on Monday - although it's best to go sooner rather than later, as these deals tend to run out before the final date.
Free Prosecco
Moneysavingexpert.com has a voucher for a free glass of Prosecco with every main meal, when you eat at a participating TGI Fridays from Monday-Thursday next week. You need to print off the voucher, which also shows a list of the restaurants included in the deal, and the terms and conditions. Scottish restaurants are offering a bottomless soft drink instead - and anyone who wants to swap their Prosecco for a soft drink may do so too.
