The victim was treated by medics from the London Ambulance Service, police have confirmed. He has been rushed to a central London hospital.

British Transport Police says it is treating the incident as "suspicious" and that it had received reports "the man may have been pushed", according to the BBC.

An air ambulance, firefighters, police and ambulance workers all attended the scene this afternoon.

Florist Natasha Boon, whose stall is next to the station, told the Evening Standard: "We thought there was a bomb... the police were running in shouting 'move, move'. It was very traumatic. People have been really upset."

One witness tweeted: "In utter shock & disbelief. I just hope the guy will be ok. Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family."

Another added: "Don't stand close to the edge on the underground - just witnessed a guy get pushed in front of a train at Kentish Town! Hope he makes it."

The incident happened at about 11.45am today (Wednesday).
