Laptops: Black Friday deals
The tech industry is expecting us to spend big on Black Friday this year - according to analyst firm Context, 77,000 laptops have been imported in preparation, far more than in previous years.
Many of these machines are being discounted to under £200, making them ideal for Christmas presents.
Tesco, for example, is offering an Acer laptop with 15.6-inch screen and 1TB hard disk drive for just £179, £100 off the normal price.
Meanwhile, Sainsbury's has the HP 14-inch Jack Black Celeron notebook, with 32GB of RAM and Windows 10 and McAfee LiveSafe security included, down from £280 to £150.
But there are some great bargains to be had on higher-end machines too. One of Currys' best deals, for example, is the Toshiba Satellite P50-C-18K, a 15.6-inch laptop for just £700 - a £200 reduction. It's based on one of Intel's new Skylake Core i5 processors and comes with 16GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce 930M graphics chip, a Full HD screen and a 256GB SSD.
Slightly less high-spec, but still impressive, is Currys' offer of an HP 15-ac151sa 15.6-inch laptop, which comes with 2TB of storage and 8GB memory: it was £549.99 and is now £349.%VIRTUAL-ArticleSidebar-money-saving%
Amazon has knocked £50 off the price of its Acer Aspire 15.6-inch notebook, bringing it down to £329.97. An Asus T100 Transformer Book laptop is now half-price at £150, and a Linx 10.1-inch tablet with keyboard is down from £199.99 to £119.99. It's also offering the Lenovo G50 15.6-inch Laptop Notebook for £239.99, £130 less than the usual price.
Argos has a huge discount on Toshiba's 15.6-inch A8 8GB 1TB laptop, cut from £429.99 to £299.00. Even cheaper is the Toshiba C50D AMD E1 15.6-inch 4GB 500GB laptop, down from £279.99 to £179.99. The HP WOW Laptop Pentium 4GB 1TB, plus accessories worth £50, is down from £399.99 to £269.99.
And John Lewis has the Toshiba CB30-B-104 13.3-inch Chromebook for £219.95 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 100s at the rock-bottom price of £99.97.
But don't forget eBay, which says it's expecting nine million shoppers to be scouring its virtual shelves today. It's selling the Toshiba C40 14-inch Celeron Windows 10 2GB laptop with 32GB of RAM for just £149.99, and the Toshiba Satellite L50D-B 15.6-inch HD AMD A8 8GB 1TB Windows 8 laptop for £299.
