Mike Ford is relishing the arrival of Wales second row Luke Charteris at Bath next season and believes the 32-year-old will become a key member of his squad.
Charteris, who has been with Racing 92 since June 2014, confirmed his intention to leave the Top 14 for Premiership rugby on Sunday, and spoke of his excitement to be turning out for Bath.
That enthusiasm is shared by the club's coach, who is confident the Wales international forward will strengthen Bath's options in the pack for the 2016-17 campaign.
"Luke has been one of Wales' standout locks in recent years, and had a very good Rugby World Cup," Ford told Bath's official website.
"He's a superb athlete at the set-piece and in the loose, has strong leadership qualities and a lot of experience that he can bring to the squad.
"We're delighted to have one of the best locks in the world join us, and he will help us keep improving and move quickly on to that next level."
