Pensioner filmed in stand-off with bus driver in Manchester

An elderly woman was filmed in a stand-off with a bus driver in Manchester after he refused to let her on the bus.

The pensioner is seen standing in front of the 86 Stagecoach bus in Chorlton for two minutes as she bangs on the window to communicate with the driver.

According to the Manchester Evening News, onlooker Martin Guttridge-Hewitt captured the scene from his flat and posted the video on Facebook.

He told the newspaper: "I was just sitting in my flat which overlooks the bus station. I was sitting down to work and I heard a commotion outside.

"I can only assume that the bus driver needed to set off. I don't think he left her high and dry.

"She was confronting him. She just seemed pretty irate. She was banging on his window."

A bus driver behind the 86 bus stepped out of his vehicle to watch the row.

Eventually the woman moved away and allowed the bus to depart.

In July, the moment a passerby became aggressive with a bus driver who blocked in a car parked illegally at a bus stop in Manchester was caught on camera.

A woman with children decided to park on a double yellow line at a bus stop in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, and became incensed when a bus driver pulled up, refusing to leave until his scheduled time to depart.
