Morocco is one of the prominent film locations of Spectre, where James Bond and Madeleine Swann are taken to Tangier in their search for L'Americain. In the Northern Moroccan city, they locate White's secret room and find co-ordinates pointing them in the direction of Spectre's HQ in the middle of the desert.

Following the release of Spectre, Morocco has seen a huge increase in holiday bookings, with searches up 91 per cent a week after its cinema release and actual bookings up by 42 per cent, according to sunshine.co.uk.

Take the kids on a family adventure

Enjoy hands-on fun with your children on a family trip to Morocco, where stunning landscapes, incredible architecture and the exotic vibe of Moroccan culture come together. Discover the souks of Marrakech, walk through trails in the High Atlas Mountains and explore desert dunes on World Expeditions' 12-day Morocco Family Adventure. The holiday allows you to cycle near Ouarzazate, famed for its film studios, and other highlights include mixing with the locals to experience life in a Berber village and spending time in a desert camp where you can ride a camel. You'll even pick up a few skills along the way and learn to cook Moroccan food, bake bread in a village oven and serve mint tea the traditional way. The holiday costs from £1,390 person, departing daily March to June and September to early November.

Discover the diversity of the city and desert

Experience an action-packed city and Sahara tour for a fascinating look at Morocco's contrasting landscapes. On a six-night self-drive holiday with Lawrence of Morocco, you'll explore Fes and its medina which will blow your mind, as well as explore the 9,000 alleyways where little has changed in 200 years, and stay at Dar Roumana, a beautifully-decorated hotel with high ceilings and traditional tiles. Heading south to Merzouga, 50 km beyond Erfoud, you'll find awesome Erg Chebbi – a sea of dunes where the absolute silence is eerily exciting. Stay at Kasbah Mohayut, a hotel built right on the edge of the dunes. The holiday includes return flights to Fes, three nights' B&B in Fes, three nights' half board in Merzouga, transfers and car hire from £930 per person.
