Bangalore Test called off due to more rain

Further persistent rain in Bangalore has resulted in the second Test between India and South Africa being called off.

Days two, three and four at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium were washouts, and day five followed suit, with a pitch inspection at around noon local time determining that no play would be possible.

Just 81 overs were bowled on day one, with India bowling South Africa out for 214 then reaching 80-0 in reply.

The hosts lead the four-match series 1-0 ahead of the third Test in Nagpur, which gets under way on November 25.
