Online glitch at Pizza Express grants customers £50 off orders

Pizza lovers were in luck last night, when a website fault meant they could get £50 off online orders.

Pizza Express customers were amazed to find a glitch in the system saved them a sizable chunk off their bill. The deal was supposed to be for 50% off, but deal-hunters discovered it was actually giving them £50 off.

A user on the HotUKDeals site, ciftci1990, pointed out the mistake to fellow users on Monday evening.

Many were able to take advantage of the deal before it expired: Soulman123 managed to feed his family for just £6.65 - less than the price of Pizza Express' cheapest pizza.

He said: "4 pizzas 2 sides and a drink. You have to have a minimum £6 order. £56.65 mine came to, if they process this I will be gobsmacked! All of that for £6.65."

It appears the code may have only been working at selected restaurants, however as some had their discount codes rejected at the checkout.

'Henlans' said: "Mine worked.. went to try another one and it didn't work."

One member said: "We ordered, hubby collected and we've just had 3 pizzas, 3 sides, 2 drinks and 2 puddings all for £6.25"

While another added: "Just finished eating all mine, 4 pizzas, three desserts and 4 sides. 10 quid"

Many other HotUKDeals customers complained that the website had slowed right down, suggesting there were more than a few trying to make the most of their money last night.

Unfortunately, the deal has since expired.
