Horrifying moment toddler falls between train and platform (video)

The horrifying moment a girl slipped between a train and the platform in Melbourne has been caught on camera.

The toddler was stepping off the train when her foot got caught in the gap and she fell.

Her mother had stepped off before her, and is seen frantically running back to her child when she sees what has happened.

According to the Mirror, a stranger who saw the girl fall slammed on the emergency alarm to stop the train from moving off and crushing the girl to death.

The video was shared on Facebook by Lya Laje, and has now gone viral.

According to the Express, a spokesman for the Melbourne Metro said: "This is every parent's worst nightmare.

"In just a split second a child can disappear between the train and the platform.

"The mother was lucky enough to be able to reach the child in the particular position and pull her out from underneath the train."

The girl thankfully escaped unhurt.
