A man caused panic and forced a Wizz Airplane to make an emergency landing - after trying to kick down the cockpit door at 10,000ft.

The unruly passenger also reportedly tried to open two emergency exits before being wrestled to the ground by fellow travellers.

The incident took place on a Wizz Air flight from Bucharest in Romania to the Norwegian city of Torp.

The Daily Mail reports that the man got out of his seat and started shouting, before running towards the cockpit door.

The plane was forced to divert to Malmo in Sweden, where the man was arrested on suspicion of violating aviation laws by endangering passengers during a flight, reports the Mirror.

The Express reports that one passenger said: "When something like this happens high up in the sky I do not think it is funny at all."

The man was not the only passenger from the flight arrested after landing in Malmo. Another traveller was taken into custody on suspicion of drunkenness, but the two cases are not thought to be linked.
