His dad said he was "terrified" that somebody was after him.

According to the Mirror, his dad, William snr, from Dundee, said: "I got a call from him.

"He was absolutely terrified and told me people were after him and he didn't know whether he'd make it back home.

"I don't know how much of it was real but he was using words like Turkish mafia."

William died a week after suffering injuries in the fall.

His parents flew to Turkey to see him in hospital and he died two days later on 8 October.

His dad added: "There are so many unknowns. We don't know what is real and what is not."
