First Drive: Nissan Leaf

Updated

What is it?
Nissan's third generation Leaf has drawn mixed reviews. At a quick glance, not much appears to have changed for the electric supermini, lending the question of whether the car has really has been facelifted. Subtly revised details and the new colour option of Bronze are the only noticeable changes from the previous incarnation, released in 2013.

However, it's the unseen developments which are the real game changers for the new Leaf. Clever engineering has seen Nissan fit a battery 6kWh more powerful into the same dimensions, taking the total power output to 30kWh.
